Engaging Volunteers as Tech Trainers in Public Libraries

When library patrons have questions about how to use technology, library staff can quickly become overwhelmed. Technology questions can be tricky and time-consuming. But library volunteers can be a huge help! This archived TechSoup webinar is focused on how to recruit, train, and retain library volunteers to assist with public access technology services. From on-the-fly tech questions to scheduled tutoring sessions, library volunteers can help expand library services to reach more people. Volunteers do not need to be tech “experts,” but should be regular technology users who have a desire to help their community.
